The first trip is free.
It’s also a test run. We’ll take a small group from the waitlist, see what works, and fix what doesn’t before we offer regular trips.
What we know so far
Some of this is still open. We’d rather say so than guess.
- Cost
- Free.
- Spots
- Limited. We’re keeping the first group small on purpose.
- When
- Not set. Tell us what works for you when you sign up.
- Where
- Private wooded land in Minnesota with cabins and a lake.
- Who
- People who are already sober and want to spend time with other sober people.
- The deal
- You come for free. Afterward, you tell us honestly what worked and what didn’t.
How we get there
Gauging interest
We’re hereWe want to know who would come, when, and what they’d want from a trip. The waitlist is how we find out.
A first trip, free
A small group from the waitlist, at no cost. The point is to work out the kinks: food, sleeping arrangements, how much to plan and how much to leave alone. No date yet.
Regular trips
If the first one goes well, we’ll set a calendar. Dates and prices come later, and people on the waitlist will hear first.
What we’re thinking of doing
Ideas, not a schedule. Tell us what you’d add when you sign up.
- Fishing
- The lake has bass, panfish, and northern pike. Never fished? Someone will show you the knots.
- Shared meals
- One long table in the lodge. Cooking together is half the reason to go.
- Meetings, if you want them
- Optional 12-step and SMART Recovery meetings, held outside. Nobody takes attendance.
- A fire every night
- Down by the water, lit before dark.
- Lake time
- Swim, paddle, or sit on the dock and do nothing at all.
- Games
- Cards, board games, horseshoes, cornhole. Rivalries encouraged, grudges not.
